OK, I know in those days they had no piped water, the toilet was outside and all the rest of it but just imagine, no newspapers, television or radio. no contact with the Thatchers, Blairs and Browns of the day, I dunno, which is better?

Hello 'M'
I love the pictures of H.Ellingham.
Incredible how times have changed with the age of technology, and yet I suppose technology will still keep whizzing out various new creations until the end of time.
My MIL used to have an old copper where she would do the 'boil' of white sheets on a Monday, I remember the great gusts of steam that used to come from that copper.
Women did manage to get along all those years ago without any machine to help them, surprising that these days we take it for granted that they are functioning for us, to lighten our load so to speak.
