- I am retired and 'though able, at last, to do more or less what I wish, I feel I am wasting the few years of life left to me. that is the reason for starting this Blog, so that I might communicate with other humans with perhaps similar interests or perhaps opposing interests. I'm 80 years old but still a child at heart.

It has been interesting catching up, beautiful photos and the pieces for writing club and on your father were extremelly interesting.
My father is the complete opposite and therefore should be lovely in comparism which he is but sometimes as his child I would love to know if he really cared for me one way or another as he is so undemonstrative. That sounds so harsh and selfish to write but there have been times when I would have loved some sort of reaction from him. I wonder whether he would have bothered to keep the letter at all, sadly I wouldn't have written one to ever know.
Parents can effect us in so many ways and yet we probably go on to make so many mistakes as parents ourselves without even realising it we can only hope to do our best I suppose.
Don't know when I will be back but say hello to Cait I daren't start reading her blog as I would be up all night catching up and I am having to be very strict with myself, for the time being at least.
